These days in Ameto – 2019-02

Michael Seifert, 2019-02-11

Welcome to the February issue of "These days in Ameto", a recurring series of posts that highlight the most recent updates to the Ameto services. Let's dive in!

The Ameto Java client v2.0.0 was released and brings changes and new features:

  • Functionality that was deprecated in v1.3.0 has been removed.
  • Added a how-to guide for creating responsive images for a website
  • Previously, it was dependent on the pipeline steps whether a JPEG image retains its metadata or not. Starting with v2.0.0 metadata of JPEG images will always be stripped by default which further reduces image size and improves page load time.
  • Added the auto-orient operator to pipelines. The auto-orient operator normalizes image orientation based on the image's Exif metadata. You may also want to check out our Exif orientation primer for some background information.

As always, feel free to contact us if you have any questions or problems.
